Afghan and Iranian Program - Hornsby TAFE Outreach initiative

A collaborative project to develop an educational program for the Farsi speaking community in the Hornsy region. This project was nominated for a Quality Award and has had great outcomes

The aim of this project was to develop an educational program targeting basic language, computer and work skills for the Farsi speaking community in Hornsby. Representatives of local community organisations collaborated to produce an 8 week program which was delivered by TAFE NSW - Northern Sydney Institute, Hornsby College Outreach.

New community projects that have developed as a result of the program such as Learning English through Mosaics and Creative writing for Persian speakers are also monitored and supported by Hornsby College Outreach.
