Adult Literacy Innovative Programs Grants
The Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training administers the Australian National Training Authority Adult Literacy National Project which provides funds for a number of strategic initiatives in the field of adult literacy.
In 2006, DEST is particularly seeking projects that have a focus on community capacity building through literacy. We are interested in projects which can demonstrate improved life skills attributed to a focus on literacy, particularly through community and inter-agency networks.
Applications close 23 June 2006
Applicants should have expertise in adult literacy and demonstrated understanding of the issues involved, including familiarity with the relevant literature and capacity to manage and implement the project.
Adult Literacy Innovative Projects fund will fund activities that demonstrate innovation in adult literacy.
Projects funded include pilot projects, resource development, and strategic projects and can be conducted in small community settings, or be of larger scope with regional or national applicability.
In 2006 the two project categories are (i) Community Category(funding up to $35,000) and (ii) Strategic Category(funding up to $60,000). The priorities for this year’s projects are community capacity building and partnership models.
